DUNOON PARK TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
Dunoon Park Technical High School is located in East Kingston, 8 Cawley Road, Kingston 2 on a piece of land formerly known as Dunoon Park or the Old Wembly Sport Ground.
The school was established on November 1, 1979 but on November 8, 1979 it opened its door to the first batch of 331 students. The Government of Jamaica and the World Bank built the school jointly. The school is government owned and is co-educational.
Dunoon Park Technical High School exists for the sole purpose of providing a good education for its students. An education, that acts as a springboard for the world of work, for life-long learning and for life in general. Through curricular and extra curricular activities each student can develop leadership qualities, right attitudes as well as realizing their creative potential and other aptitudes. Our first principal was Mrs. L. Madge Facey, who retired in 1984. Our present principal is Mr. S.A. Thompson who serves along with two vice-principals Ms. Geraldine Authurs and Mr. Leroy McKenzie.
The HEART Trust/NTA – through the Technical High Schools Development Project in collaboration with the Ministry of Education undertook the upgrading of the physical facilities and equipment of our school Dunoon in order for it to provide improved quality technical and vocational education to meet the standards of the 21st century.
