NHT model unit
National Housing Trust (NHT) contributors living or working in Westmoreland will soon be able to submit applications for 39 two- bedroom houses, which are now being built at Waterworks in that parish. Waterworks is located just along the Ferris to Withorne Road not far from Savanna-la-mar.
Three phases of construction
The entire Waterworks development will consist of 98 units, says Keith Clarke, Interim Finance Manager at the Housing Trust. We are carrying out construction in three phases so after this first lot is sold, contributors in the parish will still have more houses to look forward to. Mr. Clarke says that work on Phase 1 should be complete by the end of October and some time thereafter, the units will be offered for sale.
Complete with all the necessary finishes
In keeping with current NHT standards, the houses being built at Waterworks will be sold complete with kitchen cabinets, clothes closets, full baths and ceramic tiled floors. These houses have been well received wherever we have built them, Mr. Clarke continues. Our customers like to buy a house that does not require any additional work. These units are complete with all the finishes so we know that they will be well received in Westmoreland as well.
Branch Manager, Lorna Bernard says that since construction began some weeks ago, customers have been make queries about the scheme. It has been a little while since we have had a new scheme in this parish, so I am really glad that we will be offering these houses soon. She says.
