Internationally renowned reggae artiste, Shaggy, has teamed up with his compatriots overseas and local friends in the business to present a once in a lifetime star studded benefit performance entitled 'I Dare You' on January 3 for the Bustamante Children Hospital. The show will feature a fabulous line up of exceptional performers on the lawns of Jamaica House.
The event is aiming to attract Jamaicans from all walks of life who want to make a difference by contributing to the upgrade of the Bustamante Children’s Hospital by purchasing well needed equipment. Tickets for ‘I Dare You’ are tiered in three categories, $20,000, $10,000, $5,000. For the $10,000 and $5,000 sections there are tickets available for children under 12 years, for the price of $2,500. Shaggy’s organising team and event suppliers are all donating their services and working towards ensuring that each category of patron will get the best value for money.
A tantalising experience awaits all guests who purchase the highest category of tickets, valuing $20,000. The lawns of Jamaica House will be totally transformed and an exclusive ultra VIP area fashioned with exquisite décor to create a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with comfort and splendour.
From the moment you enter you will be greeted with the white glove treatment, escorted from the designated VIP parking area, to the dinner party that awaits you where you dine with Shaggy and Friends. Guests will also be treated to fine cuisine from a Degustation menu, which will see each person being served a six course dinner, each course being prepared by a different caterer hand picked from Jamaica’s finest dining locations.
A premium bar will also be available with cocktails. Patrons who purchase these tickets will in effect be donating their contribution to the hospital and will be able to participate in an additional fundraising auction which will offer handpicked pieces from Cartier, Bijoux, a run with Usain Bolt and an autographed pair of sneakers, two tickets to Celine Dion in Concert, A week at the beautiful Mamiti Blue Villa on the Blue Lagoon, and a sitting in on a studio session with Shaggy along with a specially autographed piece from the Artiste himself, among others for what promises to be an exciting evening.
The $10,000 VIP area will be all inclusive premium bar and cocktails as well as a delectable choice of wine, cheese and dessert. All in the prime VIP viewing deck. The $5,000 donors will have all inclusive bar.
Shaggy adopted the Bustamante Hospital for Children in 2001 and has been donating to the institution for the past seven years. However, the Hospital is still in need of other life saving equipment as many are outdated or non-existent. These include vital items such as incubators, vital sign monitors, volumetric pumps and a dialysis machine.
The ‘I Dare You Show’ dubbed Shaggy & Friends is the first in what will to be an annual concert which will see Shaggy joining forces with other entertainers as well as supportive sponsors such as Wisynco, Sagicor, The Bank of Nova Scotia, Jamaica National, Digicel, CVM TV, The Gleaner Company, The Jamaica Observer, The RJR Communications Group, Hype TV, Sportsmax, Atlas Protection Limited, KFC, Wray & Nephew, From Thought To Finish, The Creative House Ltd., Air Jamaica, Get Caught Media, Phase Three, and Sun Island, all in support improving Jamaica and making a difference for our Children by extending the reach of 'Love' to users of the Bustamante Children Hospital.
